Yumiko Igarashi

image/data/author/yumiko_igarashi.jpg Born on August 26 in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Yumiko Igarashi made her debut in 1968 with the series SHIROI SAME NO IRU SHIMA -Island of White Sharks-, in Shueisha's Ribon magazine. Her best known titles include Candy Candy (original work by Kyoko Mizuki), Georgie! (original work by Mann Izawa), and Mayme Angel.

Winner of the 1st Kodansha Manga Award in 1977 for her work on Candy Candy.

Candy Candy, Georgie!, and Muka Muka Paradise, another of her works, have also received anime adaptations on television.
